Alecto (Comissioned Artwork)

Another piece comissioned by Legendary Games for the book "Mediterranean Monsters & Mythology for DnD 5E"

Brief: This is one of the Greek "Furies" - punishers sent by the gods to bring pain to mortals who have offended them. They are usually women in Ancient Greek clothing (because of licensing reasons, we cannot show any bare breasts or genitals, so avoid that even though Renaissance artists definitely loved to paint naked furies), though their garments can be bloodstained or ragged to give a sense of pain and torment. They should have wings, usually feathered bird-like wings (though sometimes they are shown with bat-like wings, especially in more modern artwork). They sometimes have whips or even use snakes as lashes.
